Buyer's Premium:

An early to mid-20th-century oak sewing cabinet or workbox of British manufacture. The unit is constructed from oak with a dark-stained finish, featuring prominent medullary rays to the quartersawn side panels and lid. The cabinet has a hinged lid that opens to reveal a deep storage compartment lined with green baize. This compartment contains a removable, segmented wooden tray for organising spools of thread. Below the main section is a single drawer, also lined with green baize, featuring a centrally mounted rectangular wooden pull. The cabinet is supported by four square-section legs. A label on the interior back panel is marked A Chard Product BRITISH MADE. This lot includes an assortment of vintage sewing ephemera such as threads, fabric pieces, a Pifco electric scissors box, and various vintage tins.

Condition report:

The exterior shows signs of age-related wear including scuffing, scratches, and thinning of the dark stain on the lid and side panels. The interior baize lining displays some fading and marks consistent with age and use.
