A Lloyd Loom tub chair and matching lidded linen basket, manufactured by W. Lusty and Sons Ltd. Both pieces are constructed using the signature Lloyd Loom technique of woven kraft paper over a wire-reinforced frame, finished in a metallic bronze-toned paint. The tub chair features a continuous rounded back and arms, supported by four tapered wooden legs. The rectangular laundry basket has a distinctive bow-front profile and a hinged lid. The items retain their original manufacturer labels: the interior of the basket features a white label printed with LLOYD LOOM and a Lusty product in script, while the underside of the chair frame has a paper label identifying the maker as LLOYD LOOM, LUSTY and SONS LTD., and includes the reference 70 STANDARD.
Condition report:
The set is in fair to good condition. Both pieces show noticeable wear and loss to the metallic bronze finish, particularly on the raised edges and the wooden chair legs which exhibit scuffing and finish loss. There is general surface soiling and some staining to the woven areas. Minor fraying and loosening are present on the braided edge trims of both the chair and the basket lid.
