A mid-century modern drop-leaf dining table, typical of British design from the 1960s or 1970s. The rectangular top features rounded corners and is finished with a teak-effect wood veneer. The table is designed with a narrow fixed central section flanked by two large hinged drop-leaves. The supporting structure consists of a solid hardwood trestle base, likely beech, finished in a matching teak-toned stain. This base incorporates four swing-out gate legs that extend to support the leaves when in loop use. No maker’s marks, stamps, or manufacturer labels are visible on the underside or frame. A small white paper lot tag is present on the top surface.
Condition report:
The table is in fair used condition with clear signs of age and wear. The top surface exhibits several prominent white heat marks and circular stains. The hardwood frame and legs show general scuffs, scratches, and small indentations consistent with domestic use. The hinges are fully functional, although minor gapping is visible at the joints between the leaves and the central section.
