A contemporary chest of three drawers constructed from solid pine in a rustic Mexican style. The piece features a rectangular top with decorative incised border lines. The three full-width drawers are designed with raised rectangular panels and each is fitted with two dark-finished metal pull knobs set on diamond-shaped backplates with decorative studs. The drawers are built with modern joinery rather than traditional hand-cut dovetails. The unit is finished in a natural wax or stain that highlights the timber grain and stands on a simple plinth base.
Condition report:
The chest displays wear consistent with age and use. The top surface has several prominent pale circular marks resulting from heat or liquid contact. General scuffs and minor scratches are present on the edges and surfaces, including a small white mark on the front-left edge of the top. The drawer interiors are clean and the drawers operate functionally.
