A Wilesco M56 Model Plate workshop accessory set designed for use with model steam engines. The assembly consists of a blue painted sheet metal base plate supporting three miniature machine tools. These comprise a drill press, a double-ended bench grinder with two green abrasive wheels, and a circular table saw. A central line shaft transmission system with three pulleys distributes power to the tools via coiled spring-wire belts. The housings for the machine tools are constructed from die-cast metal, and the drive shafts are steel. The base plate features a red and white adhesive label marked Wilesco Made in W.-Germany.
Condition report:
The set is in an unrestored, aged condition. There is prominent surface oxidation, rust, and paint loss to the blue base plate. Heavy corrosion is present on the circular saw table and the transmission shaft. The factory label is worn, peeling, and partially torn. The mechanical movement is untested and likely requires cleaning and lubrication of the moving parts. No original box is present.
