An assortment of framed artworks and prints comprising various maritime, coastal, and natural history subjects. The collection includes a print on paper depicting the clipper ship South Australia titled The Homecoming. The reverse of this work is inscribed with the title, ship details (Built 1868, 1,078 tons), and attribution to Montague Dawson c.1946. This piece is housed in a giltwood frame with a beaded inner edge and a cream mount.
Included is a natural history print depicting two birds perched on flowering apple blossom branches. The reverse bears a label for Saron Birds with item codes 710 938 and 9910031, alongside a Fidakord label. It is set within a matching beaded giltwood frame.
The collection further contains a trio of small coastal scenes rendered in the Mediterranean style, showing white-walled villages and boats in a harbour. One work is inscribed Greek and Skiathos to the lower right, alongside a cursive signature reading G. [illegible]. These are presented in stained wood frames with gilt inner slips.
Completing the group is a rectangular wall mirror screen-printed with an illustration of a red vintage car and the brand name Columbia in gold script, set within a simple wood frame.
Condition report:
The collection shows general age-related wear. Frames exhibit minor chips, scuffs, and small areas of loss to the gilt and wood finishes. The paper supports and mounts show signs of light foxing and yellowing. The backing paper on several frames is torn or brittle. Surface grime and dust are present across the items.
