A two-piece sterling silver christening set comprising a pedestal egg cup and a matching spoon, presented in its original fitted case. The hallmarks include the maker mark A & J Z L T D in rectangular punches, the lion passant standard mark for sterling silver, the anchor mark for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter y for 1923. The egg cup is designed with a bell-shaped bowl and a flared rim set upon a circular pedestal foot. The body is engraved in a cursive script with the name Neil and the date 11-11-23, which aligns with the hallmark year. The matching spoon features an oval bowl and a handle terminal engraved with a decorative monogram N. The set is housed in a black leatherette-covered presentation box with a hinged lid, lined with pleated cream silk on the interior lid and black velvet on the fitted base.

Weight and measurements: Not provided.

Condition report:

The silver items show significant natural tarnishing and oxidation, particularly visible on the spoon, consistent with age. There are minor surface scratches and light wear throughout. The presentation box exhibits external wear and rubbing to the edges, and the interior silk lining shows minor staining and discolouration.
