A group of contemporary decorative ceramics with an elephant theme, comprising multiple figurines and associated spheres. The elephant figurines are crafted in a stylized form and finished in an off-white or cream-toned glaze. They feature intentional brown-pigmented distressing and speckling designed to simulate an aged appearance. The ears and flanks of each figurine are decorated with deeply incised foliate and scrollwork patterns, which have been treated with a dark wash to accentuate the relief detail. The accompanying ceramic spheres are finished with a matching cream glaze and decorated with polychrome transfer-printed images of ceremonial elephants adorned with ornate red and gold blankets. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or artist signatures are visible on any of the pieces.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition, exhibiting minor surface wear and a light accumulation of dust consistent with display. The speckled finish and the presence of dark pigment within the recessed decorative patterns are intentional characteristics of the manufacturing process. No chips, cracks, or signs of professional restoration were observed.
