Buyer's Premium:

An assortment of framed and unframed artworks and decorative pieces including advertising items and topographical prints. The collection features an oil on board study of a kingfisher, signed Paul Slay to the lower left. Also included is a large print depicting a standing chestnut horse in a landscape with other horses visible in the distance, set within a stained wood frame. A decorative Coca-Cola advertising mirror is present, featuring early 20th-century style graphics and text including The Ideal Brain Tonic, 5c, and At All Soda Fountains & Carbonated in Bottles. Further items include an oil on board of a lighthouse on a rocky coast, a monochrome topographical print with a mount inscribed Street Roehampton, a printed plaque detailing the history of the Blackbird Inn of Ponteland, and a silhouette-style graphic of three zebras. The group also contains two unframed oil on board studies: a portrait of an elderly woman wearing a beaded necklace and a figurative interior scene of a woman with long hair. Completing the lot are a mountain landscape print at sunset and a small framed oil of swans on a lake.

Condition report:

The condition across the collection is varied. Several wooden frames show visible scuffing, surface wear, and minor separation at the mitred joints. The Coca-Cola mirror exhibits some oxidation and loss to the silvering, particularly around the edges and decorative borders. Unframed boards and canvases show edge wear and minor surface dirt. The oil paintings exhibit some light surface abrasions and areas of fine craquelure consistent with age.
