A contemporary longcase clock by Fenclocks of Suffolk, featuring a wood case with a dark mahogany finish. The hood is designed with a swan-neck pediment and brass-capped fluted pilasters. The arched gilt brass dial is signed Fenclocks Suffolk and decorated with pierced corner spandrels and a silvered chapter ring displaying Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for minutes. The dial arch incorporates a functional moon phase complication with a rotating disk showing lunar phases against a 29.5-day scale. The clock houses a mechanical, weight-driven movement with a triple-chime mechanism, featuring twelve hammers striking a set of rods to provide Westminster, St. Michael, and Whittington chimes. The trunk features a full-length glazed door which reveals the brass-finished pendulum and chains. The three weights are included and are currently stored in orange bags.
Condition report:
The case is in good overall condition with some minor surface scratches and light wear to the finish, most notably around the box-form base. The central finial for the pediment is missing. The brass dial and pendulum show minor surface tarnishing. The mechanical movement is untested.
