A large Italian style majolica pedestal jardiniere crafted from earthenware with a bright white glaze. The piece features bold, high-relief moulded decoration in a polychrome palette, showcasing a large five-petalled pink flower resembling a lily or amaryllis, accompanied by closed buds and long, tapering green leaves. The main vessel has a softly scalloped rim and is supported by a baluster-shaped pedestal base, which continues the floral theme with a single pink blossom and rising foliage. No maker’s marks or factory backstamps are visible on the exterior or interior of the piece. A small white rectangular price sticker is present on the inside rim of the bowl.
Condition report:
The jardiniere is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or evidence of repair. The interior of the bowl exhibits significant dark staining and soil residue consistent with previous use as a planter. There is light surface scuffing and accumulated dust around the pedestal base and within the deep recesses of the moulded decoration.
