Modern hardcover volumes such as The Flame and The Times First World War are generally in good condition with minor shelf wear and light edge wear to the dust jackets. Softcover editions show typical handling creases to covers and spines. Older volumes exhibit significant wear; The War Illustrated Volume 3 shows substantial deterioration with loss and tearing to the cloth at the spine head and tail. Der Volks-Brockhaus shows heavy fraying and wear to the cloth edges and corners. The Children’s Animal World Encyclopedia displays visible spotting and soiling to the boards. Internal pages show occasional light foxing or toning consistent with age.
