Buyer's Premium:

A diverse group of volumes spanning military history, biography, and general reference. The collection features a strong emphasis on the First World War with titles including The Times First World War by Peter Chasseaud, Boy Soldiers of the Great War by Richard van Emden, Anthem for Doomed Youth by Jon Stallworthy, and The Faces of World War I by Max Arthur. Biographies include The Flame by Leonard Cohen and Tim Footman’s Leonard Cohen Hallelujah, alongside Martin Hugo Maximilian Schreiber’s Madonna Nudes 1979 published by Taschen. Military and historical interest is further represented by Lieutenant-Colonel Michael Dewar’s The British Army in Northern Ireland and a vintage volume of The War Illustrated (Volume 3). Reference and miscellaneous works include Der Volks-Brockhaus A-Z, The Children’s Animal World Encyclopedia, and A History of the Plymouth Lifeboats. The books comprise a mixture of publisher’s cloth-bound hardcovers, pictorial boards, and softcover editions. Several modern hardcover volumes retain their original dust jackets.

Condition report:

The collection shows a range of condition from good to poor. Modern hardcover volumes such as The Flame and The Times First World War are generally in good condition with minor shelf wear and light edge wear to the dust jackets. Softcover editions show typical handling creases to covers and spines. Older volumes exhibit significant wear; The War Illustrated Volume 3 shows substantial deterioration with loss and tearing to the cloth at the spine head and tail. Der Volks-Brockhaus shows heavy fraying and wear to the cloth edges and corners. The Children’s Animal World Encyclopedia displays visible spotting and soiling to the boards. Internal pages show occasional light foxing or toning consistent with age.
