A collection of football memorabilia primarily focused on the England national team and various FIFA World Cup tournaments spanning the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The lot includes an assortment of nine VHS videotapes featuring highlights from Euro 96 (England vs Holland 4-1), official FIFA films for the 1986 World Cup including Every Goal of Mexico 86 and Hero, Italia 90 England World Cup Heroes, and the USA 94 goals compilation. Other titles include Gary Lineker’s 48 Goals and a 2002 qualifying campaign release produced for Marks and Spencer. Printed material includes an official 1986 Mercantile Credit World Cup Mexico programme featuring team kit guides, a 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea Japan booklet, a match programme for Home Park, Plymouth, and a Football Quiz book. The collection also contains a World Cup board game by Design Group in its original box and a large football-themed ring binder. Textiles comprise a white ringer-style t-shirt with red trim featuring a St George’s Cross and the text Beautiful Cross, alongside a synthetic St George’s Cross flag bearing the Umbro diamond and JJB Sports logos. A souvenir football featuring the 1994 US host cities New York, New Jersey, and Chicago is also present.
Condition report:
The items are in used condition consistent with age. VHS cases show minor shelf wear and some scuffing. Printed ephemera exhibits light creasing and expected tanning to paper edges. The t-shirt is heavily wrinkled and shows faint yellowing and spotting to the lower-centre front. The flag has heavy fold creases from storage. The football appears partially deflated. The board game box shows shelf wear to corners and edges.
