A milk churn constructed from heavy-gauge galvanised steel. The vessel is of cylindrical form with a tapered shoulder and features two robust D-shaped carrying handles welded to the upper section. The churn is accompanied by a mushroom-style lid. This item demonstrates the industrial design typical of 20th-century dairy transport on the British railway network.
Condition report:
The churn shows extensive surface oxidation, heavy rust, and pitting throughout the body, handles, and lid. The metal is heavily aged with a dark brown patina. Despite the surface corrosion, the item appears structurally sound and complete with its original lid.
