This lot consists of a pair of traditional vintage cricket batting pads and a large leather equipment bag. The batting pads are constructed with white canvas faces, vertical cane ribbing, and tiered horizontal knee bolsters. Each pad features a printed red square logo at the base containing stylised lowercase letters ds. The associated equipment bag is a large, structured carrier made from brown leather, featuring a wide top opening and two leather fastening straps with metal buckle closures.
Condition report:
The leather equipment bag is in poor structural condition, featuring multiple large tears and missing sections of leather on the front and side panels which expose the interior lining and padding. The leather is dry, scuffed, and shows significant age-related deterioration, including a partially detached fastening strap. The batting pads are in fair vintage condition; they remain structurally intact but show signs of heavy use with significant surface staining, ground-in dirt, and general discolouration to the canvas.
