This lot comprises a diverse collection of vintage board games, puzzles, and toys from well-known British manufacturers of the late 20th century. Included are classic board games such as Pictionary, Waddingtons Swindle, Spear’s Ludo, Trek, Solitaire, Waddingtons Sorry!, and Invicta Mastermind and Number Mastermind. Jigsaw puzzles are represented by The Bill: On the Rocks Mystery Jigsaw Puzzle Game by Paul Lamond Games and a Falcon Games jigsaw. Activity and dexterity items include an Airfix Hanky Panky Magic set, a Rubik’s Cube accompanied by the paperback book Mastering Rubik’s Cube by Don Taylor, and animal-themed dominoes. The collection is rounded out by two packs of Waddingtons Number 1 linen finish playing cards, a Donkey card game, and a wooden tray containing multi-coloured building blocks and various plastic puzzle components. The games are contained within their original cardboard boxes, bearing printed lithographic designs and manufacturer logos from Waddingtons of Leeds, J. W. Spear and Sons of Enfield, and Invicta of Oadby.
Condition report:
The items are in used, play-worn condition. Cardboard packaging exhibits typical age-related shelf wear, including scuffing to edges, corner bumping, surface creasing, and some tape marks or old price stickers. One side of the Animal Dominoes box is loose. The contents of the boxes, including game pieces, cards, and instruction manuals, have not been checked for completeness. Wooden and plastic components show minor surface marks consistent with age and handling.
