An assortment of British ceramic tableware comprising two primary services. The first is a Royal Doulton fine china dinner and tea service in the Autumns Glory pattern, reference LS 1086, dated 1991. This service features transfer-printed fruit and vine borders with grapes, plums, and autumn leaves against a white ground. The group includes a lidded teapot, an open sugar bowl, a creamer, a large oval serving bowl, dinner plates, soup bowls, and multiple cups and saucers. Each piece bears the Royal Doulton backstamp within an octagonal border, including dishwasher and microwave safe care instructions.
The second service is a mid-century modern fine bone china coffee set by Hostess Tableware, featuring the Black Velvet pattern designed by John Russell. The pattern consists of repeating brown and black pill-shaped ovals. This set includes a milk jug, multiple coffee cups and saucers, and a small open bowl. Also included is a tall modernist coffee pot featuring a bright orange concentric target motif, characteristic of John Russell designs for Hostess Tableware. Base marks include the Hostess Tableware logo, the pattern name Black Velvet, and attribution to designer John Russell.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with no significant chips, cracks, or repairs visible. Minor surface wear and manufacturing imperfections consistent with age and domestic use may be present. One oval bowl has a small adhesive price sticker attached.
