A collection of antique and vintage household objects. The group features an early 20th-century Singer sewing machine with a black enamelled cast-iron body, decorated with gold filigree decals and marked The Singer Manufacturing Co. and SINGER; it includes a bentwood cover with the SINGER name. Fireplace accessories consist of a large rectangular metal fender with twisted-metal scrollworkand turned finial details, a traditional brass coal box, a set of fire tools on a central stand including a shovel, tongs, poker, and brush with turned brass handles, and a pair of wood and leather bellows with a brass nozzle.
Condition report:
The items show varying degrees of age-related wear. The sewing machine exhibits significant surface oxidation and rust to the mechanical parts and base, with visible loss and wear to the decorative decals. The brass coal box shows a split to the wooden handle grip, overall tarnishing, surface scratches, and minor indentations. The metal fender has heavy corrosion and surface rust throughout. Fire tools and bellows show signs of use, including tarnishing, verdigris to brass components, and wear to the wood and leather surfaces.
