A collection of various ceramic, glass, and wooden items. This group includes a West German art pottery vase of cylindrical form with relief-moulded geometric decoration and textured glazes in shades of green and brown; the base is incised W-GERMANY and 289-18. An octagonal leaded stained-glass lampshade is constructed with opaque white glass panels and a decorative border of multi-coloured glass. A large white glazed ceramic basin or chamber pot features a blue transfer-printed mark for the RAF, Brentford, London, and Crescent China, England. The group further contains a white ceramic bowl marked for Shenango China, New Castle, PA, a clear moulded glass pedestal bowl with geometric star designs, and a turned wooden mortar and pestle.
Condition report:
All items show signs of age and use. The ceramic pieces exhibit crazing to the glazes and minor surface staining. The lead cames of the lampshade show typical oxidation and surface grime. Light shelf wear and surface abrasions are present on the bases of the glass and ceramic vessels.
