An assortment of recorded music across various formats including vinyl LPs, 7-inch singles and EPs, CDs, and cassette tapes. The collection is predominantly focused on classical, spoken word, and natural history genres. Notable vinyl includes three titles from the L’Oiseau-Lyre Florilegium series featuring The Consort of Musicke performing John Dowland’s Third Booke of Songs, Consort Music, and A Pilgrimes Solace 1612. Other labels represented include Deutsche Grammophon, Philips, and Supraphon. Spoken word and children’s titles include Rev. W. Awdry’s Railway Stories narrated by Johnny Morris on Delysé Envoy, Flanders & Swann on Parlophone, and The Goons on Decca. The CD selection includes classical titles with releases from Naxos, Channel Classics, and BBC Music Magazine, including Hilary Hahn’s Mozart and Korngold Violin Concertos and Rachel Podger’s Vivaldi: La Stravaganza. Cassette tapes include cast recordings, BBC natural history recordings, and blank media from TDK and J&F Stone. The lot is completed by two large vintage multi-disc storage binders containing a collection of 78rpm or 10-inch records.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition commensurate with age and use. The 7-inch EP sleeves show heavy wear with significant creasing, tears, and adhesive tape repairs. LP jackets show moderate shelf wear and scuffing. CD jewel cases show light surface scuffing. The vintage storage binders show significant surface wear and aging to the covers. All media is un-tested; visual inspection shows varying degrees of surface marks and dust. Shellac records within the binders may be brittle.
