A diverse assortment of vintage and antique hand tools, featuring examples of woodworking, mechanical, and maintenance equipment. The lot includes a Stanley red-bodied block plane and a larger cast iron bench plane with a lever cap marked S. Notable items include a Dog Dresser No. 82 abrasive wheel dresser with a black handle, multiple open-ended and ring spanners marked DROP FORGED, and two large adjustable wrenches. Woodworking tools are represented by several chisels and turning tools with varied wooden handles, a folding wooden rule with brass fittings showing numerical graduations including 21, 22, 27, 28, and 11, and multiple auger bits. The collection also contains two metal oil cans, one finished in green, a decorated metal claw hammer head, large shears, various screwdrivers, files, and a drill chuck. Materials comprise cast iron, forged steel, wood, brass, and plastic components. A white inventory tag marked M957C is present.
Condition report:
The items are in as-found, uncleaned vintage condition. Extensive surface oxidation and heavy rust are visible on most metal components, particularly the larger wrenches, plane bodies, and spanners. Wooden handles on the chisels, planes, and files show significant wear, including staining, grime, surface abrasions, and some small splits or chips. Grime and workshop dust are present throughout. The mechanical working order of adjustable tools and the sharpness of blades have not been tested.
