An Ercol Furniture Design 723 open-fronted bookcase with a cupboard base. The unit is finished in a dark stain, designated as the TR finish on the manufacturer label. The upper portion contains three open shelves, crowned with a decorative cornice featuring a recurring carved scroll motif. The lower section consists of a double-door cupboard with panelled door fronts and original turned wooden knobs. The unit is supported by a solid plinth base. A green and white Ercol label is present on the reverse, indicating the design number, finish, and inspection code RPB91107.
Condition report:
The item is in good structural condition with visible signs of age and regular use. The exterior and interior shelving show surface scuffs, light scratches, and areas of finish wear. There is a notable vertical scratch on the side panel. Minor chips and indentations are present around the base and corners. Original hardware is present and intact.
