This collection of mid-century modern decorative art glass comprises multiple pieces in a vibrant palette of orange, amber, and red tones. The group features a 1960s “swung” glass vase by L.E. Smith in the Bittersweet colourway, characterised by its tall, irregular pulled rim and integral three-footed base. Also included is a tall blown glass vase with a slender neck and bulbous body, featuring a mottled honey-amber ground decorated with white internal thumbprint inclusions. An Art Deco style rectangular vase is present, manufactured from amber pressed glass with relief geometric concentric steps to both faces. The collection further contains a blown glass pitcher featuring a dramatic swirl of red, orange, and black colours, finished with an applied clear twisted rope handle and a tiered bulbous base. Completing the lot is a lidded orange glass compote or candy dish, supported by a clear glass pedestal stem with a central knop and a matching lid with a clear glass finial.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good vintage condition. Minor surface scuffing is visible on the neck of the tall mottled vase. All pieces exhibit light surface scratches and minor wear to the undersides of the bases consistent with age and decorative use. No chips, cracks, or repairs are evident from visual inspection.
