A collection of four items of 20th-century Tudor revival furniture manufactured by Wood Bros. under the Old Charm brand, constructed from solid oak with a medium-brown finish. The group includes a set of three nesting tables featuring an oval-topped primary table with turned supports and two rectangular under-tables. Also included is a joint-style side table with a lunette-carved frieze and bobbin-turned legs. The third item is a pedestal plant stand with a square top, pierced trefoil apron, and a baluster-turned central column on a cross-frame base. The final item is a small corner cabinet with a relief-carved door panel displaying a Gothic arch motif, original metal H-hinges, and a decorative ring pull. Construction throughout utilises traditional-style wooden dowel pegs and mortise and tenon joinery. Several pieces bear the maker’s diamond-shaped label, which reads Old Charm Furniture GUARANTEED WOOD BROS WARE HERTS.
Condition report:
The furniture is in good structural condition. There are minor surface scratches and finish wear to the table tops. Small nicks and abrasions are visible along the edges of the legs and tops. Light dust accumulation is present within the carved details. The wear is consistent with age and domestic use.
