A bespoke late 20th-century solid hardwood storage cabinet designed for records or sheet music, handcrafted by John Trippas of Woodturners, Modbury, South Devon. The unit features a distinctive stepped modernist profile with five internal vertical compartments separated by angled dividers, allowing for easy browsing of stored media. The piece is constructed from a warm-toned solid hardwood with a visible grain throughout, finished with a clear polish. It bears a handwritten inscription in ink on the underside: John M. Trippas 1996 (Woodturners) (South Devon) Modbury.
Condition report:
The cabinet is in good used condition. Visible defects include minor surface scuffs and light scratches consistent with age and use. There is a small bruise or compression mark to the front-facing top edge of the right-hand side panel and a similar small nick to the front-facing top edge of the left-hand side panel. The overall structure appears sound with no visible splits or significant damage.
