This is a large-scale wooden dollhouse modelled after the traditional farmhouse from L. M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. The exterior features white horizontal clapboard siding and a green-painted wooden shingle roof set with two brick-patterned chimneys. A gabled portico is positioned over the green front door, which features a wooden identification plaque inscribed with Green Gables. The facade is detailed with green shutters, three window boxes containing artificial floral displays, and an attached side porch with decorative white railings and a functioning miniature wooden hanging swing. The structure opens at the front with three hinged panels to reveal a seven-room interior arranged over two storeys. The interior decoration includes a central wooden staircase with a banister and patterned carpet runner, two ornate cream-coloured fireplaces with relief detailing, and various floral and patterned wallpapers throughout. Flooring consists of wood-effect laminate, pink tile-effect paper, and grey tile-effect paper. The dollhouse is electrified and includes several brass-tone miniature light fixtures, such as chandeliers and wall sconces, with visible internal wiring and an accompanying transformer.
Condition report:
The dollhouse is in good overall condition. A number of miniature framed pictures have become detached from the interior walls and remain within the rooms. There is minor evidence of wallpaper lifting at some of the corners and edges. The functionality of the electrification system and lighting fixtures has not been tested.
