A collection of 2023 commemorative 50-pence coins issued by the Bailiwick of Guernsey to mark the Coronation of King Charles III. Each heptagonal coin is struck in a silver-toned metal featuring selective 24ct gold plating. The obverses bear the uncrowned portrait of the King facing left, inscribed CHARLES III BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY 2023. The reverses are divided into three thematic series: the first row features coronation regalia including the Sovereign’s Orb, Sceptre, Eagle Ampulla, Coronation Spoon, and Sword of Offering; the second row features heraldic motifs and snippets of the national anthem including God Save The King; and the third row features royal residences including Balmoral Castle, Buckingham Palace, Sandringham House, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and Windsor Castle. The coins are individually housed in protective acrylic capsules and presented in a black flock-lined display case with a Union Jack themed outer sleeve titled HISTORIC COLLECTABLES OF THE NATION – COMMEMORATING THE CORONATION OF HIS MAJESTY KING CHARLES III.
Condition report:
Brilliant uncirculated condition with full original mint luster. There are no visible signs of wear, contact marks, or toning on the coin surfaces. The protective capsules and the presentation case are in good condition.
