A collection of framed artworks comprising three monochrome drawings and one colour lithographic print. The three drawings, executed in graphite and charcoal on paper, depict varied scenes: a riverbank landscape with overhanging trees and two industrial harbour views featuring dockside cranes and vessels. Two of these drawings are signed Chas. E. Peers in pencil. The fourth item is a colour lithographic print titled D-Day Patrol by aviation artist Eric Day. This commemorative work was produced for the 50th anniversary of the Normandy landings and depicts Spitfire Vb AB910 in flight over the coastline. The print is numbered 1/1000 in pencil and is signed to the lower margin by the artist Eric Day and Squadron Leader Paul Day AFC. The drawings are housed in uniform black frames with deep red mounts, while the print is presented in a gold-toned frame with a white mount. A detailed printed label is affixed to the reverse of the print, providing historical context regarding the aircraft, the D-Day anniversary, and the signatories.
Condition report:
The glazing on one drawing frame is significantly damaged with a large curved crack across the lower section. Visible foxing and brown spotting are present on the paper of the drawings, most notably on the harbour scenes. The paper for the drawings shows general age-related toning and discolouration. All frames exhibit minor scuffing and wear consistent with age and handling. The limited edition print appears in stable condition within the frame.
