A collection of Irish ceramic ware, primarily comprised of fine Parian porcelain from Belleek Pottery, alongside items from Donegal and Tara China. The Belleek items feature the traditional Shamrock pattern with hand-painted green shamrocks set against cream, basket-weave, or fluted grounds. Several pieces include hand-applied Flowers of Ireland decorations in high relief.
The Belleek group includes a Carlingford Cache Pot with a fluted body and scalloped rim, bearing a green wolfhound, harp, and round tower mark and a retail sticker. A commemorative Glendalough Round Tower ornament is present, marked Millennium 2000 from the Round Towers of Ireland Series. The set further includes a tall fluted shamrock vase, a pair of small floral vases with high-relief applied pink and yellow roses, an Irish thatched cottage ornament, and a small circular lidded trinket box with a gold-tone metal hinge and applied blue flowers. Additional Belleek items consist of two small vases, a ring tree dish, a basket-handled dish, a thimble, and an egg cup. Marks on the Belleek pieces vary between green, gold/brown, and black millennium stamps.
The Donegal item is an asymmetrical ceramic mantle clock with a rocky-textured body and shamrock decoration, marked Donegal Ireland Quartz on the face. The Tara China item is a small circular dish in fine bone china, marked Tara Fine Bone China Made in Ireland on the base.
Tall Fluted Vase: approximately 20cm – 25cm height.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to the gold-tone gilding on the rims of the smaller vases and the egg cup. The delicate hand-applied petals on the floral vases and lidded box should be inspected for characteristic micro-chipping, although no major losses are visible. The clock movement is untested and may require a replacement battery.
