Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £60

Estimated price: £60 - £100

Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises ten assorted jewellery and decorative items primarily crafted from sterling silver, with a combined gross weight of 67.54 grams. The centrepiece of the collection is a pair of D-shaped sterling silver napkin rings featuring engine-turned wavy patterns. These rings bear British hallmarks for the London Assay Office, including the lion passant and a date letter; the maker’s mark appears to be B. L. H. for B. L. H. Co. (B. L. & Co. Ltd). The lot further includes a Mexican silver pendant set with a grey-green chatoyant cat’s eye cabochon stone, stamped ‘MEX 925’ and ‘GC-80’. Other items include an engraved initial ‘J’ pendant on a 925 chain, a marcasite and onyx-style ring marked ‘SILVER’, a nautical ship’s wheel souvenir pendant marked ‘STERLING’, a bar brooch marked ‘SILVER’, a three-stone paste ring, and a fine snake chain marked ‘925’. A large leaf-shaped brooch inlaid with abalone shell is included; however, the presence of corrosion on the reverse suggests base metal components.

Condition report:

All items exhibit significant surface tarnish and oxidation consistent with age and storage. The abalone leaf brooch shows notable corrosion and rust-coloured staining to the pin and catch mechanism on the reverse, indicating non-precious metal components. The rings show surface wear and abrasions to the stones and bands. The engine-turned patterns on the napkin rings remain crisp despite the tarnish.
