A vintage mid-20th-century lady’s mechanical wristwatch by Geneva. The watch features a circular dial with Arabic and baton hour markers, signed ‘Geneva’ and ’17 Jewels Incabloc Swiss’. The movement is a Swiss-made 17-jewel mechanical wind-up caliber. The watch is fitted with an integral 9ct yellow gold chain-link bracelet, composed of textured outer links and polished teardrop inner elements, secured by a fold-over ladder clasp. The clasp is stamped with the maker’s mark ‘JAM’ and bears British hallmarks for 9ct gold (‘.375’), including a Birmingham assay office mark and a date letter for circa 1960. While the case back lacks external hallmarks, its colour and construction are consistent with the matching 9ct gold bracelet. The total gross weight of the timepiece, including the movement and crystal, is 12.46g. The estimate is primarily driven by the intrinsic value of the precious metal, supplemented by the desirable Swiss mechanical movement.
Condition report:
The watch is in good vintage condition. The case and bracelet show light surface scratches and minor tarnishing consistent with age and wear. The crystal has several fine surface scratches. The dial remains clear with very minor spotting to the periphery. The mechanical movement is currently untested for timekeeping accuracy or long-term functionality.
