Buyer's Premium:

A brass-cased marine-style aneroid barometer and weather station by Sewills of Liverpool, model Weather Master. The circular instrument is mounted on a rectangular dark-stained wooden backboard. The brushed brass dial features a primary pressure scale calibrated in millibars from 960 to 1060, alongside traditional weather indicators for Rain, Change, and Fair. The station includes two integrated sub-dials: an upper hygrometer marked Admiralty and Hygro for humidity percentage, and a lower thermometer marked Maker to the Admiralty and Thermo for degrees Celsius. The dial is decorated with two red prize medal crests referencing the International Exhibition 1862 and the Paris Exhibition 1867. The face is further inscribed with S. E. Wills established 1800 ad Liverpool, Temperature Compensated Precision Barometer, and Made in England. The unit is fitted with a black indicator hand and a brass setting hand with a crescent moon terminal. The wooden board includes two pre-drilled holes for mounting, currently threaded with white twine.

Dial diameter: approximately 15cm – 20cm.

Condition report:

The outer brass bezel and frame exhibit significant surface tarnish, oxidation, and pitting throughout. The brushed brass dial remains clear with minor instances of dust visible behind the glass. The wooden backboard shows surface wear, including minor scuffs and scratches. The mechanical functionality of the barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer is unverified and untested.
