An assortment of domestic, decorative, and equestrian items. The collection includes circular turned-wood coasters featuring taxidermy butterfly specimens mounted under glass, one of which bears a handwritten label reading g100/4. Metalware interest is represented by a pair of heavy copper-toned metal stirrup irons with open treads and a large brass skeleton key with a decorative openwork bow. The lot further comprises a traditional wooden T-handle corkscrew and a folding pocket tool with faux-pearl scales bearing the transcription WHITE’S OF TAVISTOCK LTD. Additional items include decorative glass-topped bottle stoppers, a black plastic wine tool, a metal pincer-style nutcracker, and silver-toned apple-shaped objects, possibly place card holders, housed in a green cardboard box.
Condition report:
The items exhibit varied levels of patina, tarnishing, and surface wear consistent with age and domestic use. The metal pincer-style nutcracker shows significant surface oxidation. The taxidermy specimens appear well-preserved under glass, and the turned-wood frames show minor surface scuffing. The stirrup irons and brass key show expected surface marks. The cardboard box shows signs of wear and handling.
