A twelve-piece collection of Wedgwood Jasperware, comprising items in pale blue, cobalt blue, and sage green. Each piece is crafted from matte, unglazed stoneware with sprigged bas-relief decoration in white. The decoration features various neoclassical scenes including cherubs, female figures in classical robes, horse-drawn chariots, and floral or grapevine swags. The collection includes a tall sage green bud vase with floral swags and classical figures, a teardrop-form pale blue bud vase decorated with a winged figure, and a cylindrical cobalt blue preserve jar with a notched metal lid. Further items include a large pale blue circular plate with a central motif of three cherubs and an oak leaf and acorn border, an oval lidded box, three round lidded trinket boxes of varying sizes, two low-profile candlesticks, and two small circular dishes or ashtrays. Bases bear impressed marks for WEDGWOOD and MADE IN ENGLAND, with various separate impressed numerals including 36, 6, and 69.
Condition report:
The items show general signs of age and handling, including surface dust and light grime. The cobalt blue preserve jar has visible chips to the white stoneware rim of the foot, and the metal lid is heavily tarnished and oxidised. There is a small chip and loss to the white relief decoration of the winged figure on the pale blue bud vase. The sage green vase shows surface smudging and light marks to the body. The large plate exhibits minor surface scuffs on the reverse, and the trinket boxes show minor shelf wear to the interiors and bases.
