A collection of decorative porcelain items comprising a large sleeping cat figurine, a reticulated bowl, a shell-form dish, and a teacup trio. The sleeping cat figurine is modelled in a curled pose and decorated in a famille rose palette with hand-painted floral sprays and large leaves in green and blue with gilt highlights. The unglazed base of the figurine features an illegible square four-character seal mark in blue-black pigment. The reticulated porcelain bowl is of square-lobed form with flared, pierced lattice sides and a central well decorated with a mountainous river landscape in underglaze blue. The shell-form dish is of Japanese Imari type, decorated in iron-red enamels with a central writhing dragon amongst stylized clouds and flame motifs; the reverse bears an illegible square four-character seal mark in red pigment. The teacup trio, consisting of a cup, saucer, and side plate, is decorated in a chinoiserie pattern featuring pagodas in a landscape with large pink flowers and iron-red diaper borders. The bases of the trio are unmarked.
Condition report:
The cat figurine shows extensive fine crazing to the glaze throughout and surface wear to the unglazed base. The reticulated bowl is in good condition with minor firing spots and small areas of kiln grit to the base. The shell-form dish is in good overall condition. The teacup trio exhibits minor surface wear and rubbing to the enamel decoration on the rims and raised edges, consistent with age and use.
