Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two English-made instruments with coordinating oak cases. The first is a mantel clock by the Enfield Clock Company, featuring an oak case with an arched top, stepped base, and a carved floral running border to the front. The 5.5-inch silvered chapter ring is detailed with Roman numerals and fleur-de-lis motifs, surrounding a wood-veneered centre with two chrome-rimmed winding holes. The mechanical eight-day movement strikes on a coiled gong and is stamped ENGLAND on the backplate. The dial is marked Enfield and MADE IN ENGLAND. The second item is an aneroid wall barometer housed in an oak case carved in the form of a horseshoe, decorated with seven applied square-head metal studs. The silvered dial includes concentric scales for atmospheric pressure in millibars (920 to 1080) and inches of mercury (27 to 31), alongside weather prognostications. The dial is marked MADE IN ENGLAND. Both instruments are stamped 80 on the reverse of the wooden cases. A winding key and pendulum are included.

Condition report:

The oak clock case shows surface wear, light scratches, and dust. The chrome bezel has minor tarnishing and the movement is untested. A white paper label is adhered to the glass door. The barometer case is in generally good condition with minor surface marks. The metal studs and chrome bezel show signs of oxidation and light pitting. The barometer mechanism is untested.
