A collection of vintage costume jewellery and vanity accessories. The lot features three vanity compact cases: one rectangular yellow-metal case with machine-engraved decoration, bearing the Stratton maker’s mark to the interior; one square yellow-metal case with a cross-hatch engine-turned pattern, marked Kigu within a triangular shield; and one silver-tone rectangular case with a ribbed exterior and a white identification label. The assortment of jewellery includes several brooches, notably porcelain plaques featuring transfer-printed romantic and portrait scenes, two of which are marked Limoges France on the reverse. Additional items include a mother-of-pearl filigree brooch, a carved shell swan, and a gold-tone snake pendant set with small red faceted stones. A green stone disc pendant, appearing to be jadeite, is present alongside an assortment of earrings and various coins, including a large silver-coloured commemorative coin housed in a plastic capsule.
Condition report:
The items exhibit signs of age-related wear and use. The vanity compacts show significant foxing and silvering loss to the interior mirrors. Metal components display surface tarnish and light scratching throughout. The porcelain and mother-of-pearl elements appear intact but show minor surface grime.
