This collection consists of approximately 11 writing instruments and various desk accessories. Promotional items within the group include a black Woolworths ballpoint pen with red text, an International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) ballpoint with gold-toned trim, and a red metal pen inscribed with the Yelverton PL20 6JY postcode. The collection also contains two decorative pens with blue and red lattice designs, a retractable souvenir pen with a scenic barrel wrap, and a Bic 4-colour ballpoint pen with a white and copper-toned barrel. Completing the set are a light blue anodised aluminium retractable pen, a black technical drawing pen, two navy blue hexagonal graphite pencils, a Parker metal ballpoint refill, a slim ballpoint pen housed in a black fabric sleeve, and a group of approximately 12 loose steel dip pen nibs of various shapes and sizes.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of general use and age consistent with mid-to-late 20th-century origin. The Woolworths pen features a bent clip. Several promotional pens show plating loss and brassing to the metallic tips and clips. The steel dip pen nibs show varying degrees of surface oxidation and rust. All writing instruments are sold as untested for ink flow or mechanical function.
