A diverse collection of approximately 35 pieces of costume jewellery, consisting primarily of brooches and pins with one rectangular buckle. The items are predominantly manufactured from silver-tone base metal with occasional gold-tone elements, featuring polished, brushed, and textured marcasite style finishes. Decorative embellishments include clear and multi-coloured faceted glass rhinestones in blue, pink, green, and amber shades, as well as faux pearls and faceted black glass stones. The motifs represented in the lot include Scottish interest with a thistle pin, novelty animal designs such as a rhinestone-encrusted deer, a seated dog, a seahorse, and various birds and butterflies. Floral and foliate patterns include mid-century style sprays and a large brushed-metal rose. Geometric and celestial designs are also present, including a large five-pointed star and a snowflake pin. Other materials noted include cold enamel on a circular brooch and stick pin, mother-of-pearl inlay, and a white moulded resin cameo. One item is mounted on a Cancer Research UK backing card.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good vintage condition overall. Most rhinestones and faux pearls are present across the pieces. The metalwork shows light surface wear, minor scratches, and some tarnishing consistent with age and use. All pin attachments and clasps appear to be intact, although their mechanical functionality has not been verified.
