Start price: £20

Estimated price: £20 - £40

Buyer's Premium:

An Anglo-Indian carved hardwood tripod side table, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The circular top is decorated with a central figural medallion depicting a scene of figures, likely Krishna and Radha, enclosed within concentric borders of scrolling foliate motifs and stylised lotus flowers. The outer edge features a repeating geometric pattern. The top is supported by a tripod base consisting of three legs carved in the form of elephant heads, with trunks extending downwards and curving outward to form the feet. The elephant heads are detailed with carved trappings and inset white tusks of bone or composition material.

Condition report:

The table is in good overall condition consistent with age. One tusk is missing from one of the elephant legs. There is minor surface wear and an accumulation of dust within the deep recesses of the carving. No significant structural repairs or wood loss are evident.
