Fortnightly Auctions Of Antiques, Collectables, General Furniture and Effects. New Lots Added Daily.
A collection of 31 men’s rings featuring a diverse array of fraternal, military, and contemporary fashion designs. The lot is heavily weighted towards fraternal organisations, particularly Freemasonry, with multiple rings displaying the Square and Compass emblem, often accompanied by the letter G. Specific pieces include rings with the inscription ANCIENT FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS, a Scottish Rite ring featuring a double-headed eagle and the number 32, and a design incorporating the Knights Templar cross and crown motif. Other notable fraternal and symbolic designs include the Eye of Providence within a triangle and a Valknut symbol. The assortment also contains fashion and western-style rings featuring animal motifs such as lions, wolves, and dragons, as well as settings with tiger’s eye and turquoise-coloured stones. The rings are constructed from base metals with silver-tone and gold-tone plated finishes, further accented with enamel work, glass rhinestones, and synthetic stones.
Condition report:
The rings are presented in a black velvet-lined display tray with 31 of 33 slots occupied. One ring in the bottom row is missing its central decorative stone or insert. Throughout the collection, there are varying degrees of surface wear, minor tarnishing, and rubbing to the plated finishes consistent with pre-owned costume jewellery. The turquoise-coloured stones show surface irregularities and hairline fissures typical of dyed or stabilised materials.
