This lot comprises a nest of three mid-century modern style rectangular occasional tables, a metal deed box, and a heavy carved wooden vessel. The nesting tables feature tops with a rich, straight-grained wood veneer, consistent with mahogany or sapele, finished with gold-toned metal edge banding and decorative circular corner studs. Each table is supported by four black-painted tapered metal legs terminating in brass-finished ferrule feet. The rectangular metal deed or cash box features a grey-brown textured finish, a hinged lid, and a metal pull handle on one end; it contains a single large metal binder clip. The wooden vessel is carved from mahogany with a square base transitioning to a circular rim and features a small recessed insignia on one side used for storing pens and pencils.
Condition report:
The tables exhibit general surface wear consistent with use, including light scratches to the wood veneers and minor finish loss at the edges. The metal banding and corner studs show signs of tarnishing and light pitting. The black paint on the legs has scattered scuffs and areas of wear, particularly near the feet. The metal box shows significant surface oxidation and rust spots throughout, along with paint loss and scratches. The wooden vessel shows minor nicks and surface abrasions.
