A collection of four framed works on paper, primarily executed in watercolour, depicting maritime and coastal subjects. The collection includes two larger harbour scenes showing a building titled the Navy Hotel and fishing vessels with registration marks BM57 (Brixham) and PH27 (Plymouth). The first of these is signed in the lower right corner Fred K T Pedrick. The second is a similar version signed and dated in the lower right W. R. Wheatley. 1996. A smaller work depicts a coastal scene with a cottage, inscribed Porlock Weir on the mount and signed and dated G BENNETT 1988 in the lower left. The final work is a horizontal harbour panorama featuring two stone towers and sailing vessels, marked with a stylized monogram in the lower left. The works are housed in various gilt-effect and wooden frames with card mounts. Verso labels indicate framing by the Tavistock Picture Framing Company and Marlborough Frames, Plymouth.
Condition report:
Significant foxing and brown spotting are visible on the mounts of the two larger harbour scenes. General age-related toning and minor discoloration are present across the paper and mounts of all four works. The frames show light wear, including minor scuffs, chips, and dust accumulation behind the glass. The brown paper backing on the frames shows some tape residue and minor tearing.
