A trio of artworks comprising an oil on board, a pastel study on paper, and a colour print. The first work is an oil painting by L. Copper depicting a riverside landscape with a small red-roofed cottage amongst mature trees. Signed L. COPPER lower right. The painting is housed in a carved wooden frame with a gilt inner slip. The second work is a contemporary pastel study by M. Hoddleton depicting a reclining female figure. Signed M. Hoddleton. lower right. This work is presented in a glazed wooden frame with a neutral mount. The third work is a large glazed colour print of a nineteenth-century style interior genre scene featuring a group of children and adults in a classroom setting. The reverse of the backing board is stamped MADE IN SWEDEN and LINEN. This work is set in a black-painted wooden frame.
Condition report:
The black-painted frame exhibits heavy paint loss and chipping. The classroom print shows visible foxing and age-related toning. The landscape oil painting and the pastel study are in generally stable condition with minor wear to the frames consistent with age and handling.
