A pair of contemporary two-drawer bedside cabinets in the modern country style. Each unit features a thick solid oak top constructed from multiple joined planks with a natural finish and square-cut edges. The main carcasses and inset drawer fronts are finished in an off-white or cream paint. The drawers are fitted with turned oak knobs that match the timber tops. One cabinet retains a small white identification label to the lower front bearing the alphanumeric code R1166C. The carcasses are likely constructed from a softwood such as pine beneath the painted finish, as evidenced by natural resin characteristics.
Condition report:
The cabinets are in used condition with visible wear throughout. The oak tops exhibit light surface scratches and several faint water rings and stains consistent with age and use. The painted finish shows significant knot bleed, resulting in circular yellowish discolouration appearing through the paint on the drawer fronts and side panels. There are minor scuffs and marks to the painted finish around the bases and sides. The drawer mechanisms are functional.
