A limited edition commemorative mechanical men’s wristwatch by The Bradford Exchange, titled The Victoria Cross, produced for the 100th anniversary of WWI. The watch is endorsed by the Lest We Forget Association and features a rose gold-plated case. The cream chapter ring displays Roman numerals and surrounds a skeletonised centre that reveals the manual wind mechanical movement, decorated with an applied Victoria Cross emblem. The case back is engraved with the inscriptions For Valour, Conspicuous Bravery Act of Valour, Self Sacrifice in the Face of the Enemy, and the limited edition number 2230/4999. The crown is set with a maroon cabochon, and the watch is fitted with a maroon crocodile-grain genuine leather strap. It is accompanied by its original box, instructions, and Certificate of Authenticity.
Case size: approximately 40-42mm.
Condition report:
The watch is in used condition. There is significant tarnishing, surface grime, and visible wear to the rose gold plating on the case back. Light scratches and minor plating wear are present on the lugs and bezel. The leather strap shows moderate signs of use. The mechanical movement is untested for timekeeping accuracy. Presentation box and documentation are included.
