A collection of thirteen sterling silver items comprising eleven spoons of various sizes and two matching napkin rings. The flatware selection includes serving spoons, teaspoons, and condiment spoons primarily in the Fiddle and Old English patterns. The two matching napkin rings feature bright-cut engraved floral and foliate borders. The items bear several British hallmarks, predominantly from the London and Birmingham assay offices, with makers including William Eley and Levi and Salaman. Marks include:
– Napkin rings: Stamped W . D, lion passant, anchor, and date letter u.
– Teaspoons: Stamped L & S, lion passant, anchor, and date letters s and u.
– Serving spoon: Stamped W E, lion passant, crowned leopard’s head, and date letter c.
– Condiment spoon: Stamped H U & B, lion passant, anchor, and date letter e.
Several pieces feature engravings, including one Old English pattern spoon terminal marked P.C above the date 1786, an ornate heraldic crest on a large serving spoon, and initials such as V+M.

Condition report:
The items are in varied condition consistent with age and domestic use. There is significant tarnish across the lot, with one condiment spoon showing heavy black oxidation. Surface wear, fine scratches, and minor indentations are present throughout. A small paper adhesive label is attached to the bowl of one spoon.
