Buyer's Premium:

A collection of early 20th-century British sterling silver and silver-mounted articles, primarily with Birmingham hallmarks. The group comprises a small twin-handled presentation trophy cup hallmarked for Birmingham, 1919, with the maker mark A.J.D (Arthur Joseph Drury). Also included is a ceramic pedestal egg cup decorated with the heraldic crest of the City of Westminster and the motto CIVITATEM CUSTODI DOMINE, fitted with a sterling silver rim and pedestal base hallmarked for Birmingham, 1910, maker A.H. & S (A.H. Smith & Sons). The collection further contains a dressing table set with one shoehorn and three button hooks, featuring ornate repoussé sterling silver handles with scrolling floral motifs and blank cartouches, hallmarked for Levi & Salaman. Completing the set is a sterling silver Maltese style cross pendant with engraved foliate decoration on a curb-link chain, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1906, maker J.A (Joseph Ashford).

Weight: approximately 45g (estimated solid silver content).

Condition report:

All pieces display heavy surface tarnish and oxidation throughout. The silver trophy cup has minor surface scratches and the handles are slightly out of alignment. The ceramic body of the egg cup appears free from chips or cracks, although the silver mounts are heavily oxidised. Steel functional parts of the shoehorn and button hooks show surface corrosion and darkening; one small button hook is bent. The cross pendant and chain are in sound condition despite heavy tarnish.
