Two rectangular wall mirrors. The first mirror features a wide, flat-profile frame with a distressed gilt finish and dark mottled antiqued patterning, enclosing a bevelled glass plate. The second mirror is larger with an elaborately moulded gilt frame, constructed with a composite overlay on a wooden core. The frame design incorporates multiple decorative bands, including a prominent rope-twist outer border and an egg-and-dart inner moulding, surrounding a substantial bevelled mirror plate.
Condition report:
The contemporary mirror shows minor surface abrasions and rubbing to the gilded finish, with light smudging to the glass. The ornate mirror exhibits visible hairline separation at the mitred corners and typical minor losses, chipping, and wear to the gilded surface consistent with age. Both items show a general accumulation of surface dust.
