Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a trio of artworks depicting European cityscape and maritime subjects. The first work is a watercolour on paper by Jessie Sayer, showing a canal scene in Bruges with the prominent Belfry tower in the background. It is signed Jessie Sayer in the lower right corner and is presented in a gilt-edged wood frame with a cream mount. The second piece is a colour print by the Danish artist Mads Stage (1922–2004) titled Nyhavn with Lilla Dan, Copenhagen. This work is from a series entitled 4 Studies and features a harbor scene with the red-hulled ship Lilla Dan. The margin contains handwritten-style text in Danish reading Nyhavn, København, September med Rederiet Lauritzen, and it is published by A/S Carl Stenders Kunstforlag, Denmark. The verso of the mount includes an artist biography in both Danish and English. This print is matted but unframed. The third item is a small, hand-coloured etching by an artist signed as Annie. Titled Le depart and numbered 18/250 in pencil to the lower margin, the work depicts a harbour scene with several vessels. It is housed in a gilt wood frame with a mount and bears a label on the verso for framing centre, Plymouth.

Condition report:

The artworks are in overall good condition. The watercolour by Jessie Sayer shows minor toning to the paper consistent with age. The Mads Stage print and its matting exhibit light shelf wear and minor handling marks. The Annie etching and its respective frame show minor surface wear and light scuffing to the gilt finish.
